Rototuna High Schools uses Google Workspace for Education (formerly G Suite for Education) to enhance student learning.
This includes tools like Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, Meet, Drive, etc. These apps help students collaborate, create, and learn more effectively.
Google now requires us to obtain your consent for your child to use certain ancillary apps (outside of the core apps listed above). Among these are apps such as Google Photos, Google Earth, Chrome Webstore and others. While not essential, these apps are all used by teachers or students for teaching and learning purposes either now or in the past.
By allowing your child to use these tools, you agree to their data being processed by Google. This data is used to provide and improve the services within Google Workspace for Education. Google has strong privacy safeguards in place ie. the data will only be used to enhance services within Google Workspace for Education, not shared with Google at large.
If you consent to your child using these ancillary Google Workspace for Education apps, you do not need to do anything. Your child will continue to use these tools in class.
If you do not consent, please email michellehindman@rhs.school.nz
We want to stress that we rely on the Google suite of apps to deliver our curriculum, document storage and communications within the school.
Thank you for your cooperation.
