Sheyne Tuffery

Visiting Artist

On Wednesday,10 August, the Senior Visual Art Department hosted a printmaking wānanga in our Kura.

It was a pleasure to welcome Sheyne Tuffery, a well-known and eminent New Zealand printmaker. Sheyne's workshops are extremely popular in New Zealand because they inspire tauira/students to broaden their printmaking knowledge and abilities. It was an honour to have an artist present in the kura working with the level two printmaking tauira, teaching them printmaking techniques and methods useful in their NZQA internal and external assessments and beyond.

The tauira were eager to learn, and by the end of the wananga they had created some exquisite prints. They are now pursuing further exploration in order to create some innovative prints while gaining extensive printmaking knowledge. The visual arts team would like to express their gratitude to the Board, all staff, teachers, students, and the SLT for their assistance and support in making this wānanga a huge success.
