Vaping @ School

Just a quick message here about our school position on vaping.

We view vaping or the use of any such device (including smoking) as unsafe and unacceptable for our young people. It is illegal to sell nicotine based products to students under 18 and it is still somewhat unknown territory in terms of the long term effects of vaping.

What we know about the dangers of vaping

Our stance is that no student should have in their possession at school a device for smoking or vaping. No student should be vaping at school either. If students are caught either with a device or in the act of vaping we will make contact home, confiscate the device and ensure all students complete a comprehensive education programme in their own time.

I really appreciate your support in sending the same messages to our young people.

Attendance

It is compulsory in New Zealand for children to attend a school or be enrolled in homeschooling.

Going to school every day is extremely important for children to succeed and achieve. They learn valuable life skills and lessons to set them up as successful independent adults.

It is up to every parent/carer to ensure their child attends school everyday from the moment they start until at least the age of 16.
