Committees and Parent Groups

Ruahine Kindergarten Association —

Whānau involvement is encouraged at RKA and joining a Ruahine committee, 'friends of' or parent group is a great way to meet people, learn more about your child's learning and contribute to your community.

Each Ruahine committee or group is different, but they all work in partnership with our teaching teams and the wider community to provide support, particularly with fundraising, social events and working bees.

Whānau involvement also provides a family and community perspective for our teaching teams, which helps develop the direction and culture of our kindergartens and early learning centres.

Government funding ensures all Ruahine services are affordable, inclusive and very well resourced however,  the generosity of our communities - often spearheaded by our Committees and Parent Groups - means RKA tamariki enjoy many 'extras'.

There are other ways to be involved with Ruahine Kindergarten Association, check out our 'Get Involved' page to find out more.
