Get Involved

There are several ways you can become involved with RKA.

Whānau support at Kindergarten/Early Learning Centre

Whānau are most welcome to spend time at kindergarten and early learning to assist teachers, or just spend time with your child, sharing and supporting their learning.

Fundraising

RKA is for-purpose, not profit.  Although early childhood education (ECE) is not part of the compulsory education sector, every ECE provider receives government funding and at RKA, we reinvest every dollar back into our association.

Unfortunately, the government funding we receive does not cover our costs so there are times we rely on fundraising and grant applications for ‘extras’.  We are always looking for people who can organise and participate in fundraisers or complete grant applications - you can also make new friends and have lots of fun at the same time.

Volunteering

Lots of people volunteer their time at working bees, gardening, taking home laundry, sharing a special skill or interest with tamariki, or supporting teachers on excursions - we are always looking for willing volunteers.

Committees/Whānau Groups

Committees, 'friends of' and parent groups undertake activities such as fundraising or working bees, to ensure the provision of the best learning environment and availability of additional resources for our children. They are also a great way to meet new friends and contribute to your local community.
