At Ruahine Milverton Kindergarten we build authentic, collaborative relationships within our kindergarten community. We foster children’s learning and social skills through fun and playfulness, and promote peer tutoring, communication, respect, consideration, sharing and cooperation. 

We celebrate individuality and value prior learning, empowering children to be creative and imaginative problem-solvers - supported by our consistent and experienced team who provide safe, secure and challenging learning opportunities. Music, art, drama and creativity feature strongly in our programme which evolves as children’s interests change. Numeracy, literacy and science activities are experienced in meaningful and interesting ways.

Whanaungatanga and family participation in kindergarten sessions, fundraising initiatives and fun events is encouraged and we celebrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way we value our bi-cultural heritage and our commitment and loyalty to one another.  

Tamariki thrive in our awesome outdoor environment where they learn about sustainability, plant to plate and actively participate in our healthy heart programme. 

Every child has an online/hard-copy portfolio with photographs and stories about their learning, excursions and kindergarten visitors which parents can view at any time.

Ruahine Milverton Kindergarten is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 2.30pm, and closed over the Christmas and New Year break, as well as 13th January, 30th May, 7th – 10th July and 24th October when teachers are engaged in professional development.
