Ruahine Kindergarten Association Board
When you enrol your tamariki with RKA, you will be asked to consent to becoming a member of Ruahine Kindergarten Association Incorporated. In becoming a Member you will be able to vote on any motion at the RKA Annual General Meeting, and accept the RKA Annual Report and Financial Statements.
RKA was governed by a local Board for many years, until the 2023 AGM, when members voted unanimously in favour of being governed by New Zealand Kindergartens (NZK) https://nzkindergarten.org.nz
NZK is a for-purposed Incorporated Society and registered charity which was legally constituted in 1926. NZK is the Peak Body which supports local Kindergarten Associations to thrive in the delivery of fit-for-purpose, teacher-led, quality early childhood education for generations to come. Currently NZK represents 19 of the 27 local Kindergarten Associations across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The New Zealand Kindergartens (NZK) Board sets the strategic direction for all NZK Kindergarten Association members and:
1. Effectively represents and promotes the interests of the Peak Body with a view to adding long-term value and sustainability to the stated purpose of the organisation.
2. Effectively represents and promotes the interests of the local Kindergarten Association that it governs under the network governance arrangement, to add long-term value and sustainability to the stated purpose of the Associations.
The RKA AGM is held in May and whānau will be provided information about this in April of each year.
