The children have settled into school quickly and teaching and learning are in full swing.

We have a number of new families in our school, with quite a few returning from overseas. To new families in particular, we welcome you to Kirikiri Tatangi - Seatoun School. Our whakataukī, kia kirikiri tatangi ki te ao, the children who will make their mark on the world, is what we aspire to achieve.

Attached to this Steeple Rock are team newsletters and long-term plans. When you read these, you will see what an action-packed term we have in front of us!

We endeavour to have clear titles for all of our communications. You can also access HERO through an internet browser on a desktop/laptop.

School Orchestra and Rock Bands, Out of School and Music Programmes on offer this Term:

  • Orchestra and Rock Bands
  • Keyboard, guitar and drum lessons
  • French club.

We are also hoping to start a strings group this year.

Welcome to new part-time staff

We welcome the following new or returning (after a gap), staff to our school.

  • Kate Sutherland. Kate was previously a full-time staff member and this year is working two days a week for us. Releasing Louise Noble on Friday’s and junior school release.
  • Debi Meadows. Debi will work Friday’s releasing Alison Roper-Caldbeck.
  • Luke Roper has returned to NZ from international teaching and is releasing our Year 8 Team Leader on Fridays and specialist PE teacher for the year ¾ team.
  • Gill Billingsley. Gill is back with us this year releasing Catherine Miller who is one of our Kāhui Ako Across School Teachers and Team Leader release.
  • Hope Di Maio has joined our Learning Assistant team

3 Way Conferences (Learner - Teacher - Parent) - Monday 27th March

These will be 15 minute conferences where we will confirm the first set of learner goals for the year, check in on the start and ensure we are all heading in the right direction for the year. All sessions will commence with the student waiting out of the classroom and parents able to talk privately with the teacher.

The school operates differently these days, and your child is to only come to school for their interview time. Booking times will be available in the next couple of weeks.

We run our After School Care Programme on this day and bookings will open for this shortly.

 Tonight ... Thursday, February 9th 7.00pm is IMPORTANT - Looking like we will have a large attendance so please be on time!
