Visit this articleThe Hall is finished! Finally all the Council consents are through, and we can use the Hall for public worship and gatherings. A big thank you to Michael Malthus, Greg Brown, Don McKenzie for their shepherding of this project through the year, and also to Chris Wilson for his involvement as Site Architect, and Alistair Sheard for liaison on the finances. We are very grateful to have this wonderful renewed facility and look forward to settling back in, even as there will be a few loose ends to tidy up. Thank you to Greg Brown and those who’ve helped get the Hall contents back in place. The Youth Group did a great job getting their furniture and gear back into the Youth Room upstairs.
Service Times: We will now settle back into the 9.30am Church and 10am lifestreams in the Hall service times, but please note that next Sunday 11th December we will be having a Combined 930 & lifestreams service at 10am in the Church for the Children’s Christmas Pageant. Thank you to Barbara Neville and large team of helpers who are working hard with our children to prepare for the pageant.
We are looking forward to Andrew & Yvette Butcher joining us for the pageant weekend and they will be taking a look at the vicarage also.
Congratulations, Pauline!
We are delighted to note that Pauline Stewart has been awarded a Kiwibank Local Hero medal, one of 10 in Canterbury, for her work over the past 4 years with the organisation she founded, Family Drug Support Aotearoa. We are so proud of you, Pauline, and acknowledge your dedicated hard work which is bearing so much good fruit in our community.
Wafer Room Reunion: It was good to gather with our Wafer Room alumni for morning tea on Thursday. All enjoyed a catch up and we also acknowledged the death of Pauline Timms, whose funeral was here on Wednesday.
Staff and Vestry also enjoyed dinner together at Corinne Haines’ this week. A warm thank you to all our busy caterers at present! Arohanui, Revd Jenny
