Spring Flowers: I hope you are enjoying the Spring daffodil display here as much as we are—Christchurch really seems to have ’blossomed’ this week in a way which lifts the spirits. This Sunday in our services we celebrate God’s beautiful creation and you are then invited to drop off a posy of spring flowers to one of our parishioners at home who may be unwell, bereaved or in need of knowing they are remembered and loved as part of our St Barnabas family. We have around 90 parishioners to distribute spring posies to, so please take at least one on your way home to share the deliveries and to share the joy of giving and receiving! Thank you too to those who will make up the spring flower posies for us with such love and skill - all welcome Saturday 16th Sept 10am in the Tui Room.
Mission Month Project: Dr Nigel Yeoh has been in touch with Dr Nick and Tessa Laing in Uganda about a special project for our Mission Month this year. Nick has started 35 One Day Health Centres in very rural and poor villages of Northern Uganda, still recovering from years of war. These are run by a trained nurse and resourced with basic medicines, able to deal with malaria, diabetes, pneumonia. We are going to fundraise to start up another One Day Health Centre, the cost is $5000. You can donate via our St Barnabas bank account 01 0819 0003971 00 with Your Name and Health in the references, or via the Parish Office. Thank you for supporting this fund raiser as you are able to. Find out more about the One Day Health Centres here. View a short video from Nick and Tessa Laing here. Arohanui, Jenny
