“I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” – Mother Teresa. This week is another where we can rightly celebrate the strength of community spirit at St Margaret’s College.

The St Margaret's College and Christ's College Combined Concert took place at 7.30pm on Wednesday June 2 in the Christ's College Assembly Hall. The opening item was a dramatic and atmospheric rendition of "Arabian Nights" from Aladdin, arranged for the occasion by Sammy McDonnell and performed by the combined orchestral players from both schools.

We have been steaming through Term 2 at our usual rate of knots. The weather has certainly been putting a spanner in the works recently with the netball tournament in Ashburton being cancelled over Queens Birthday weekend and the Jelly Bean tournament being postponed. Fingers crossed the next few weekends are brighter and drier.

We can't go overseas at the moment. True! So what? After all. we have an awesome destination around the corner to celebrate the French language and culture and its (small) impact on Aotearoa!

Tomorrow is a themed dress day to support farmers affected by the recent Canterbury flooding. Girls are encouraged to wear gumboots, gym shoes, or any other footwear and bring a gold coin donation.

This week's featured businesses are Eradus Wines, Argus Fire Protection, Irelands Property, Apollo Power Yoga and Massage and Williams McKenzie Lawyers. These are all local business who support St Margaret's College and we'd love you to support them back as much as possible, thank you.

Each year in the Year 10 Rite Journey programme, the students are set a series of challenges to navigate. Resilience is built by giving students challenges and helping them acquire the skills, resources and mindset necessary to overcome them.
