From The Director

National Boarding Week has rounded off Week 3 of Term 3. Dani Coles and the boarding council designed a week of fabulous activities to recognise and celebrate all that boarding offers.

There is much to celebrate about boarding and this week the aspect of togetherness, community, collaboration and fun have been highlighted.

Living together as a community, such as our girls in boarding, brings so much intrinsic value to wellbeing. A large proportion of our girls not only head off to organised sport together from the boarding house, but daily, pods of girls go to the gym or for a walk or run together. This has planted a seed with our boarding council to develop a boarding harriers running club! The motivation of having someone to be active with is clearly obvious.

While the term is flying by, we would like to remind parents that with a large amount of illness amongst the girls, we are following the same practices with flu-like symptoms of RAT testing for Covid. The blanket consent from parents has been very helpful for its smooth operation.

Prelims are on many of our senior girls' minds at this time and we are mindful that this can bring some additional stress. We want to ensure the girls are well supported leading up to their exams and our senior boarding team are assisting girls with additional, targeted support including a math tutorial during prep time.

We look forward to seeing many of our parents at the boarding parent function on the last day of term, Friday 23 September. Please note that the boarding house will be closed between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, therefore if your daughter is leaving for an early flight or bus on this day, please make arrangements for pickup before 1:00pm or after 3:00pm.
