Epro 8

Recently, the Year 5/6 Builder Bees Construction Club Team competed in the EPro8 semi-finals held at Kirkwood Intermediate and were successful in qualifying for the Grand final. We are so proud of their efforts.

This is the fourth qualifying round for the girls. The first was an in-school challenge where they were pyrotechnic engineers required to construct a landmark at a reduced size and attach party poppers(fireworks) that needed to be popped from a 2-metre distance. These girls were successful in their submission of this task and made it through to the quarter-finals competition at Cobham Intermediate competing against other schools.

EPro8 is an Engineering, Problem Solving and Innovation competition based around a set of challenges to be completed within a given time frame. Each time the girls completed a challenging task they earned points, racing up the leaderboard. EPro8 encourages teamwork, communication and perseverance. Our team of 4 worked tirelessly over the 2.5 hour period without stopping for food, water or toilet breaks!

We are incredibly proud of our girl's first attempt in this competition.

The girls involved were:-

Year 6 - Greta Costeloe and Savannah Dallison

Year 5 - Sienna O’Connell and Alexandra Pawsey.

We look forward to entering more girls in the competition next year.

Grand final here we come!
