Term 1 continues at a fast pace and our girls are facing the realities of first academic assignments due.

This end of term fundraiser for EGG will allow the girls to experience many things similar to a refugee camp as they camp overnight on the school field.

Last week myself and the other Year 12 IB freshmen of the IB Diploma programme cheerfully made our way through the journey of IB Camp.

During camp week the Year 7s took up the challenge to manipulate masking tape in a process that is called “tapigami”.

Maija (Year 8) and Layla Martin (Year 5), along with Mrs Double, were lucky enough to visit the Peace boat Ocean Dream when it visited Lyttelton Harbour in February.

Last week the White Ferns came to visit to inspire SMC's keen cricketers.

SMC debaters have made a great start to the Canterbury Schools Council competition with Milly O’Brien and Aisha O’Malley selected for the national team, and our junior girls have enjoyed a fun show from NZ Playhouse, while arts co-curricular groups are up and running.

With the business end of the summer sport season upon us we can reflect and celebrate all that has made our girls everyday sporting heroes.
