New classroom arrives at Tihoi campus

The term break provided an opportunity for the second of three new academic classrooms for the Tihoi Venture School to be moved from the Hamilton campus. The Science classroom has been long anticipated to replace a very aged prefab that came on site in the 1980’s.

The new classroom was built by the St Paul’s senior Construction class under the guidance of Mr Gavin Jakes. In the past twelve months, the classroom has acted as a dorm and more recently a common room for Clark House during recent upgrades.

On Monday 8 October the classroom began its journey from Hamilton to Tihoi. With limited road time, the classroom parked up at the Taupo stockyards overnight before the final haul to Tihoi - arriving on Tuesday 9 October. The building has now been secured into position, adjacent to the English classroom and will be joined by the third new classroom in early December. This is an exciting upgrade for the Tihoi Venture School and provides state of the art teaching spaces for our Year 10 boys.
