We have made a superb start in our 60th year as a school. We have a record roll, impressive external examination results, and quite a number of exciting challenges before us over the next twelve months.

We recognise that never has it been more challenging for parents to raise happy, healthy and resilient children. Parents need to be informed with clear, fact-based information on the many challenges faced by today’s youth. Topics such as youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, cyberbullying and many others need clear explanation and guidance.

One of the special features of St Paul’s is the strength of our pastoral care system.

The new year sees a number of new teaching and support staff join St Paul’s. We welcome the following staff to our school community and look forward to having them as part of the team.

2019 has brought with it a number of role changes, particularly amongst our boarding and house leadership.

Further to the Headmaster’s prize-giving speech and follow-up article in the December issue of the Informer newsletter, on the theme of Hauora or wellbeing, we have instigated a number of significant changes.

On Tuesday, 12 February 2019, St Paul’s Collegiate School turned 60 and to celebrate, a timeline of the past six decades was unveiled in the Sports Centre, students were given a piece of cake and a commemorative pin for the lapel of their blazer.

This week we will welcome back past students and staff for The Big Welcome Back Reunion, celebrating 60 years of St Paul's. We have a number of events lined up starting with an official opening of events on Friday which will bring past and present students together. Read on for the schedule of events...

Our 2018 results in external qualifications are very similar to the excellent performances that have been achieved by our seniors in recent years.

Scholarship is the most demanding and prestigious of secondary school examinations and is sat in subjects studied by the candidate.

2018 graduate Sasha Patil (Harington 2016-18) is heading to the sunny Gold Coast to pursure a double degree in Medical Science and Medicine.

Students at St Paul’s are provided with careers guidance and support in making vocational/educational decisions.

Hannah Simpson (Year 12) emerged as a champion at the North Island Surf Lifesaving Championships held in Waihi from 16-17 February.

St Paul's rowers have been busy on the water, competing and training as they lead up to Maadi Cup at the end of March.

Once again students competed against Hasting's Lindisfarne College in an annual sporting exchange whihc took place from 10 - 12 February

The weather had been hot in the weeks leading up to the annual athletic championships, and so it wasn’t surprising that it dawned hot and sunny on Wednesday, 13 February.

St Paul’s had several swimmers in action over the December to February period.

Three St Paul’s boys made the Northern Districts under-17 team and were selected to take part in the national under-17’s tournament held at Lincoln – David Hancock, Shivam Achary and Kuwyn Price.

On Monday, 28 January, St Paul’s 1st XI took on St John’s for the start of the Cricket Festival competition.

The third classroom arrived at the Tihoi campus on Wednesday, 16 January to complete the replacement of the academic buildings.

Following months of construction, the eagerly awaited drama and performance centre was blessed and opened in time for 2019 classes to begin.
