Waves above the rest at surf lifesaving champs

Hannah Simpson (Year 12) emerged as a champion at the North Island Surf Lifesaving Championships held in Waihi from 16-17 February.

The keen swimmer/life saver competed in six different races, gaining four gold medals in the under-20 women's division, and two silver medals in the open women's division. Her team's success earned them the title of under 20 womens champions.

Hannah and her team will head to Dunedin to compete at nationals in a month.
