LET’S GET READY FOR THE 2024 NETBALL SEASON

The following is the start of the communication about how we teach Maths at Stanley Bay School. Each term we will add to the information, with video clips of lessons to be able to see a lesson in action.

Guitar and Ukulele lessons are available at school, for Year 2 upwards, with Dave Gatman from Musiqhub.

During Term 1 we will be hosting parent-teacher interviews on 26 and 27 March. This is a great opportunity to have a one-on-one with your child’s teacher to talk about the progress of your child and ask any questions that you may have.

The year 5/6 children had a very successful camp last week!

Wow! What a busy and fabulous week we have had! EOTC was a great success. The children had a huge amount of fun and showed perseverance, determination, teamwork and a fabulous sense of humour!

Camp day was a huge success! A MASSIVE thank you to all the parents/caregivers who came to help with the tents or supplied them for us to use. The kids all had a great time and it was a fun experience for all.

A fabulous group of Stanley Bay mums are about to take on a bucket list adventure, to make lifetime memories with awesome humans whilst supporting Oxfam Aotearoa to fight the injustice of poverty around the world.

The Elsie Locke Writing Prize is offered by the Elsie Locke Memorial Trust. It provides a wonderful opportunity for young writers ages 5-13 to develop an original piece of writing for publication inspired by New Zealand history and Elsie's work for peace, the environment, women’s issues, and our community.

Kids Athletics is a 6 week non-competitive style athletics programme where young people (primary and intermediate age) have the opportunity to try a variety of athletics activities in a relaxed environment.

Students are legally required to attend school every day and it’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure our children attend and engage in learning from when they first start school.

Friends of Stanley Bay (FOSB) 2024 update

Before and after school is a busy time and we understand that the traffic congestion outside our school in the morning and afternoon is very frustrating. However, parking rules help to protect children and keep them safe.

Mini Leagues at Murrays Bay School

Did you know that there is a Walking School Bus that your child could catch to get to school safely, whilst building their confidence and spending time with their friends on the way?

Each term, the whole school community (whānau, parents, caregivers, students, staff and the Board) are invited to review and comment on specific policies and procedures.

Registrations are now open for the 2024 season at North Shore Rugby Club.

It has been so wonderful to see all our tamariki back at school this week and to warmly welcome our new whanau to our kura at our whakatau.

We will be changing the bell times of our school day as a result from changes in the latest Primary School’s collective agreements for teachers which gives them extra release, with the purpose to reduce teacher workload and increase support.

If you live within the home zone and have not yet advised us of your intention to enrol your child or children at our school in 2024/2025, please let us know.

Music classes involve singing and Rhythm, movement and dancing, and the playing of basic percussive instruments.

What an incredible summer we have had. I cannot remember a summer where I swum so much. Our kaiako have been at school over the last few weeks preparing for the new year. We have an outstanding staff and run an effective programme where our children succeed.

This year, the first full day of the school year will be Wednesday, 7 February 2024.

As part of our Health and Safety procedures, we annually review our medical database so that we can support students with identified health concerns. Please let us know if your child has a medical or health condition/s that we should be aware of, or if our existing plan for your child needs updating.

As you know, rubbish trucks visit our school and neighbouring areas daily to collect trash and recycling. While these routine pickups are necessary, they can also pose safety risks to children walking to and from school that we must be mindful of.
