Year 7 and 8 Camp

Last week, Year 7 and 8 students visited Camp Columba for 3 days of fun and challenging outdoor activities.

The Year 7 and 8 cohort were adventurous, confident and maintained a sense of positive energy, despite the cold wet weather. Mrs Oliver-Cowie, Mrs Joint, Mrs Prentice and Miss Geary were all very impressed with the Year 7 and 8 students' attitude and their enthusiasm while on camp.

Some activities, run by Camp Columba adventure instructors, included abseiling, rock climbing, raft building (when it wasn't raining of course!), high ropes, flying kiwi and archery.

Of special mention were our amazing Year 11 leaders: Madeleine Drummond, Alexa Ross, Grace Bamber, Esther Whiteside, Teru Ogawa, Chika Oshima, Charlotte Stafford, Chihiro Kato.

The Year 11 leaders showed maturity, a real 'get it done' attitude and were inspiring role models for their young peers. They helped to run the activities during the day, got involved alongside Camp Columba instructors and ran some entertaining sessions at night such as a talent show and quiz.

Another HUGE thank you needs to go to Year 7 and 8 whānau who also came along and supported our students on camp: Glen Williamson, Vanessa Robb, Sandra Rasmussen, Gretchen Beardmore and Trevor Harvey.
