Notification of Potential Strike Action - Thursday March 16th 2023

PPTA Te Wehengarua members have voted for a one-day national strike in Term 1 2023.

The national executive has now set the date for this strike as 16 March 2023.

This strike action is subject to progress in negotiations. Formal confirmation of strike action will be on Monday 13th March. The strike would begin at 12:01am on 16 March 2023 and end at 11:59pm on 16 March 2023.

The nature of this action will be a continuous withdrawal of all labour on the 16 March 2023. This includes work that would otherwise be undertaken on or off the school site.

Tolcarne Boarding Residence will remain open. They will be following their normal ‘weekend day’ guidelines and expectations.

This action by members is not undertaken lightly. We hope you understand PPTA Te Wehengarua members’ commitment to continuing to ensure the profession has quality teachers.
