Year 10 with their fabric by Isla Huffadine

Textiles Spotlight Trip

This week Textiles students from Year 10 to Year 13 had a fabric / pattern sourcing trip. I must say it was a very successful experience for all students and staff involved.

Year 10 purchased fabric for their tote bags and pyjamas; it is always interesting to see the range of fabrics and designs they choose.

Year 11 and 12 had a goal of purchasing a pattern that they will adapt for the projects. A lot of the students took advantage of the sales and purchased fabric as well.

Year 13 solely focused on fabric selection, and most of the students came away with swatches or lengths of fabric. A special thanks to Mrs Walsh and Mrs Baker for making these trips possible. I’m really looking forward to seeing how all the projects turn out and also showcasing them to the school community. Watch this space.
