A big group of Tahuna Students set off on an adventure to raft the Taieri this week. Conditions were testing but we had a lot of fun and had an awesome outdoor experience.

In Tahuna's exciting Marae Week, room 15 have been mainly focusing on harakeke.

The All blacks are about to break out their famous haka "Kapo o Pango Sunday morning as they take on the Australians. This challenge has been a key feature in the success of our National team over our enemies.

Room 18 were the proud winners of the 2015 Marae Week Poi-off!

Enrolments are steadily coming in for 2016. If you have a child coming to Tahuna, or know a child who is coming that isn't enrolled yet, please encourage them to do so.

In the second week of the holidays there was a U13 South Island basketball tournament. The teams were Otago A,Canterbury Red and Black,North Canterbury,Southland Mid Canterbury and Nelson. 

The students loved the opportunity to learn and participate in a variety of Games & Physical Challenges with Mr Lousley.

A quick drive to Kings and 11 Tahuna students got to hang with nine bands, 22 guitars, bass, drums, microphones, amps get the opportunity to jam with Jon Toogood of Shihad.

For the last two weeks we have been hosting four Thai students in Rooms 14 & 7. The students of those classes have done a fantastic job of making our guests feel very welcome.

We recently took part in the nationwide earthquake drill ShakeOut. At 9.15am on the 15th October Tahuna and 1.3 million other New Zealanders took part in this activity.

This is a fundraiser for a former Tahuna student, Anna Cooper, who has been selected as the only Otago representative for THIMUN, 2016 (The Hague International Model United Nations). This is an amazing opportunity where 4000 students from around the world (22 from NZ)gather at The Hague to debate policy, the theme for 2016 is 'Sustainable Urbanization'.
