Welcome to Room 16 2018. This year the students in our class will be working towards some of our school values: Responsibility, Creativity and Success by writing and sharing their learning in our classroom newsletter. They will be responsible for being our class journalists and will also include lots of photos as part of our ongoing writing program.

Problem solving, listening to each other, trial and error and confidence were all important skills necessary to help us find success!!

Room 16 were one of the last classes to head off to camp. What a fantastic three days they were at Berwick!!

Over the next six weeks 96,000 children will swap writing their writing around NZ. It's going to be EPIC and Room 16 are included in the 96,000!!!

Integration - During the last few weeks our inquiry topic has been learning about mapping and integrating this into our classroom programme wherever possible. Our maths focus has been position and orientation, ICT we have been coding and Design Tech we have been learning robotics.

Deeper Learning: A collaborative classroom is key to teach students how to listen and ask good questions with exercises designed to scaffold deep, meaningful collaboration. Students gathered at a table engaged in a high-level task, discussing, possibly debating an issue, making shared decisions, and designing a product that demonstrates all this deeper learning.

"If It Is Meant To Be, It Is Up To Me" is one of our class motto's.

Tahuna values are interwoven throughout the classroom programmes and everyday school life. They are also a big part of our reward and acknowledgement system.
