Great finish to the hockey season

A very enjoyable hockey season came to a perfect end when the Tahuna "A" squad took out the Year 7/8 competition final with a convincing 5-0 win over Balmacewen last Friday.

Term 3 is fully underway - full noise so to speak - with lots happening over the past two weeks and more to come.  We have had the Ukulele Jam, Stars on Stage and we had two of our Rock bands - Acoustic Heroes and Rodeo Clowns, compete at the Rockshop Bandquest competition.  Rodeo Clowns taking out the top prize.

Enrolments

We are currently taking enrolments in Year 7 and 8 for 2016. Please complete the enrolment card or online form if you have a child coming to Tahuna. Encourage friends and family who have children coming to Tahuna to please get this done also. This means we can start planning our classes and staffing for 2016 on time.

Off to the Nationals!

High School Enrolments

It is the time of year when you will be deciding upon the high school that your Year 8 child will be attending next year. High schools are asking us to encourage parents of Year Eight students to please enrol your child when you have made your decision. All Year Eight's at Tahuna get the opportunity to attend Open Mornings and Open Nights but if you would like a more personalised look around please don't hesitate to ask. Staff from Dunedin High Schools will be talking to Classroom teachers in term four.

Year Seven Gymnasts

On Sunday the 23rd of August, Morgan and Cailin competed in the Gymnastics Competition at Willis Street Gym. They competed on these following apparatus: Floor, Vault, Uneven Bar and Beam. Cailin got the total of 34.8 achieving a bronze medal. Morgan got a total of 34.975 achieving the Silver medal.  Morgan and Cailin are both in Regional Competition Gold Level and represent D.G.A          (Dunedin Gymnastics Academy ). They hope to get more medals in the future competitions.

Canteen changes

Due to Marlow Pies moving their base from South Dunedin they are no longer able to deliver their products to Tahuna. We are therefore sourcing our canteen products from another retailer in our immediate area. We have had a long association with Marlows and enjoyed their high quality products. We thank them for their wonderful service and wish them well in their new premises in Kaikorai Valley.
