Tennis Success

by George Higham

Recently I played in two intermediate tennis tournaments. The first tournament I won two of three matches and qualified for the next tournament. This one was much tougher and I played the top seed who eventually went on to win the tournament. I knew he was a serious player when his tennis kit was bigger than my cricket kit bag. I was actually pleased to get a couple of games to deuce. In the next game I had many good rallies and won a few games. I lost that match too but was pleased to have had the chance to play for Tahuna. It was good to see the high standard of school players from different parts of the South Island.
