Taumata School Board of Trustees: Casual vacancy for a parent representative

The Board wishes to advise that David Lewis, a valued parent-elected representative, has resigned from the Taumata Board due to work commitments. We thank David for his valuable contributions to the Board and Taumata School and wish him well on his endeavours. This creates a casual vacancy on the school board for an elected parent representative.

The Board has decided to fill the vacancy by selection and wish to appoint a currently co-opted representative, as permitted by the Education and Training Act 2020. The Act also provides that if 10% or more of eligible voters on the school roll ask the board, within 28 days of this notice being published, to hold a by-election to fill the vacancy, then a by-election will be held.

Expressions of interest are not being sought. Request for a by-election should be e-mailed to botsecretary@taumata.school.nz by 5:00pm on Friday 1st March for the attention of: Ben Fitchett (Chair / Presiding Member)
