Whiria te tāngata - 27 June

Lost Property

Our lost property has reached high proportions again

Please have a look through the lost property (displayed outside gym/office), as there is a huge amount of clothing.

Clothing will be donated at the end of this week, as we simply do not have the space to store it. All NAMED items are returned to students, and all items are regularly on display to students.

Please speak to your child about taking full responsibility for their clothing.

International Students

Next term we are delighted to be hosting a large number of international students from China.

Most are here for short stays of 1-2 weeks, with some staying a little longer. Thank you to our parents whom have offered to host these families (they receive a healthy homestay payment).

We welcome the opportunity for these international students to experience school life in our school. All of our students will benefit from this interaction, and we also use the fees paid to go directly back into our school-wide projects or inclusive learning support for all learners.

We are still seeking further applications from families who may be interested in hosting an overseas student. The weekly homestay fee for hosting International students is $320.

If you are interested in applying to be a Te Ao Mārama Homestay family, please contact our International Student Manager, Sally Grylls-Thomas, for further information: sally@teaomarama.school.nz

Hosting an international student can be a very rewarding experience and is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn about other cultures.
