School Closures Next Week- Possible Strike Action

At the time of writing this, we are still awaiting news of a possible settlement between the Government and Primary Teachers union.

“If” there is a strike, then this would be next Wednesday 31st May. Unfortunately this won’t be confirmed until the weekend or even Monday. Because of this tight time frame we wanted to ensure families were aware of the possibility and could organise contingencies.

Our staff and Board are all sincerely hoping to avoid any possibility of further strike action, and will update our community as soon as we hear (via Facebook and email)

Please see here for our previous article regarding the current main issues (https://hail.to/te-ao-marama-school/article/x6d0RKI).

The teacher only day planned for Friday 2 June will still take place even if there is a strike, even though we recognise that the timing will be highly unfortunate. This is a day (organsied last year) when over 800 teachers from our local schools are coming together for a huge day of professional learning at Claudelands.
