Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
As we move towards the end of the school year, it’s wonderful to see the warmer weather settling in. The past few weeks have been full of energy, with a variety of events and activities keeping us busy.
Over the last couple of weeks I had the privilege of joining our Tūī students at Lakewood Lodge Camp in Huntly. Camps were always a highlight of my own primary years schooling and it was so neat to see our students really enjoying the camp experience.
I am delighted to share that there was very strong support (in the Board survey, and results will be shared in our next newsletter) for these camps to continue annually for our older students. We believe that these experiences are so important for our children to experience new challenges. For many of them, it was the first time kayaking, riding a horse, rockwall climbing, archery etc.
A heartfelt thank you to our staff for their dedication and to the parent helpers who made it all possible.
Kind regards,
Tony
