Yesterday marked the first day of winter and at the start of the week Te Maramataka moved into Te Tahi o Pipiri. These colder, darker months that are creeping up on us bring a little more sickness. How are we looking after the health of ourselves and our whānau during this time?

Colds, flus and covid-19 are making their rounds again, e hoa mā. Please remember to keep your tamariki at home if they are unwell or displaying symptoms of kowheori-19/ Covid as we have vulnerable tamariki and staff in our kura who do all they can to look after their own hauora but it does take a team effort.

At kura our efforts include reminding tamariki to wash their ringaringa before eating, cover their waha and ihu when sneezing or coughing and bring their patara wai/ drink bottles to stay hydrated. If you haven't contributed a box of tissues to the akomanga of your tamaiti, please do so when you are able.

Whaea Dot has asked that kaiako leave kura in the winter months before 4pm. This is so they are able to practically look after their own wellbeing and health as well as the hauora of their whānau as colds, flu and covid continue to ramp up.

If you need to kōrero to the kaiako of your tamaiti/ tamariki please be aware that they are contactable during the hours of 8am - 4pm. These are not the only hours of their mahi but we thank you in advance for being patient if they do not respond to your emails, texts or calls outside of these times.

Tēnā rawa atu koutou for helping our kaiako to look after themselves.
