Ready to Learn - PB4L

Being Ready to Learn is essential for student engagement, achievement, and success at school.

What is Ready to Learn?

Being Ready to Learn means being on time for classes, with all the right equipment and a positive attitude. Teachers will be doing a push on being Ready to Learn to round out Term 1 to help students achieve their best in the classroom.

Being Ready to Learn Means:

  1. You bring your laptop to school every day, with the charger.

  2. Along with your laptop and charger, make sure there is a pen, workbook for each of your subjects that day and calculator in your bag every day too. Be prepared for all types of learning, not just digital.

  3. Use your break times and walking time to get a drink and go the bathroom so you don’t disrupt your learning time.

  4. Remember everything teachers do is for the betterment of your learning. Teacher decisions aren’t always popular but they are based on your best interests.

  5. Understand that learning is challenging because you’re learning new content or a new skill. Not all learning is exciting and dynamic but it’s all important. Try to take on all learning experiences, not just the “fun” ones.

Students being Ready to Learn teaches a key skill which is the ability to self-manage and take responsibility for their education. We never stop learning either so learning this skill early will pay dividends in your adult years.

Is your laptop out of action? Laptops break sometimes, we understand that, luckily we have Isaac upstairs in C Block who can lend you a device for the day if you see him first thing in the morning (8:40 am). Remember, you won’t be able to grab a laptop during class from the library, but luckily you will have brought a pen and your workbook so you will still be able to complete your work.
