Parenting Support and Advice
Mana Ake provide free guidance and advice to parents of Y7 & Y8 students at DHS.
Children go through many changes and new experiences, particularly between the ages of 11-13yrs. This can present parenting challenges that are new, and at times uncomfortable. If parents would like some support or advice, they can look at the Mana Ake Website - Supporting your Child Section.
If parents would like to talk to someone, Mana Ake Kaimahi (workers) can arrange a 'Drop In' which is a 30 minute session to discuss some of the behaviours parents are noticing. Kaimahi will offer some suggestions and resources for parents to try, or they may connect parents with other service providers.
