Visit this articleTerm 2 has brought a mix of sad and joyous occasions as we have farewelled Mastura Abd Rahman and welcomed Thi Phan to Hagley College. As we look forward to forging a new and collective path forward, I encourage us all to be inspired by the whakatauki: Mahi Tahi (Working together): He aha te mea nui tea o? He tangata, he tangagta, he tangata. What is the greatest thing? It is people, it is people. For me, this speaks of what we are capable of when we work and act together and aligns with the vision of the draft Otautahi (Christchurch) multi-cultural strategy to achieve “ an inclusive multicultural and multilingual city that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and values our diversity – a city where all people have a sense of belonging”.
