From the CEO | We are very pleased to confirm that there will be no increase to the practising fee and disciplinary levy for the year commencing 1 July 2023.

Kia ora koutou, rau rangatira mā.

Council was recently able to make the decision not increase to the practising fee and disciplinary levy after careful consideration of operational and strategic needs, as well as its financial position.

While all other existing fees will also remain the same, there will be a small adjustment in the fee for the assessment of international medical graduates for registration in a provisional vocational scope of practice to account for inflation.

Council believes that the existing fees are appropriate, valid, and relevant. The adjustment in college advice fees is necessary to ensure that they accurately reflect the costs incurred by medical colleges in conducting assessments and providing advice to Council.

Council maintains transparency and equity in its fee structure through the application of an activity-based costing methodology, which undergoes a comprehensive review every three years.

The next review is scheduled for 2024, aiming to minimise cross-subsidisation among fees. A copy of the latest Gazette Notice can be found here.
