All students have the opportunity of attending a camp when entering Timaru Boys' High School in Year 9, and some may have further opportunities through participation in Outdoor Education and Geography trips.

The Rite Journey programme is underway with over one hundred and thirty boys across all Year 10 classes participating.

Having had an extremely successful 2019 result on the playing field, TBHS Hockey is excited to announce a two-year partnership between KPMG and the TBHS 1st XI.

Congratulations to Flynn Linton who was named not only in the New Zealand U16 Ice Hockey Squad for January 2019 but has also been selected for the NZ Men's U18 Ice Hockey side that was to be travelling to Luxembourg for the World Championships in April 2020.

Rainer Willcock (Year 11) and Nathan Harbutt (Year 12) represented Timaru Boys' High School at the 2020 Harken National Secondary School Keelboat Championships held at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Auckland from 6-8 March.

Three keen TBHS Year 10 students were part of the 77 contestants in the Timaru Triathlon on Sunday 23 February.

TBHS had two teams competing in the Aoraki Bowls Competition.

With less than three weeks to go until the Aon Maadi Cup at Lake Ruataniwha TBHS rowing have only two school regattas (one being the Maadi Cup) left to race after the squad competed at the Canterbury Junior Championships, held at Lake Hood.

TBHS students competing at the South Island Town and Country Swim Competition made a clean sweep of the 200 breast.

Saxon McNoe and Flynn O'Keefe were the record breakers at the annual TBHS Athletic sports held on Monday and Tuesday 17-18 February in fine conditions at the Aorangi Stadium all weather track.

There has been an outstanding turnout for the lunchtime session of Pushing for Excellence in Science.

Our boys certainly get out and about....

Timaru Boys' High School has a strong tradition of assisting with the annual Special Olympics.

The South Island SS Tennis Championships were held in Timaru over the weekend 29 Feb - 1 March at the Trust Aoraki Tennis Centre.

TBHS has a small but committed Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The annual Waitaki vs Timaru Boys' Summer Exchange was held in Oamaru on 3 March, played in cool conditions with intermittent morning showers.

TBHS student, Robert Chapman, spoke in assembly about how his experience with the YES programme has encouraged him to join the Pleasant Point Fire Service as a volunteer.

Congratulations to Tea Goodman (Year 9), one of our up and coming young sportsmen in the world of Darts.

Visits from University or Polytechnic Liaison staff started last week with Otago Polytechnic speaking with a number of out students interested in courses ranging from ski instruction, occupational therapy, quantity surveying and stone masonry

So far things are made in the shade for our combined Timaru Boys’/Girls’ production of Grease!
