We have confirmed that our production of The Lion King jnr is the NZ Premier of the show! What an amazing privilege and responsibility for our students, who are working hard at the moment on adding dance moves to their singing.

Our Year 11 ‘White Shirt Induction’ has now had its fourth session in as many weeks. A new initiative, it is intended to support boys arriving in the senior school; to help them grasp the nature and norms of becoming a senior with our best advice.

The Rite Journey at Timaru Boys’ High School continues to offer all Year 10 boys significant support and guidance as students transition from juniors to seniors in a time of their life that can present difficult challenges. 

Year 13 students set up camp last weekend on Site 81 at the annual Relay for Life fundraiser run by the local Cancer Society.

On Friday 1 April the Timaru Boys’ High School Rugby Club is holding a Charity Auction in the school's Hogben Hall commencing at 6:30pm to fundraise for the 2016 season.

Ben Deeley, Timaru Boys’ High School 1st X1 has been invited by Andy Boyens, Youth Football Development Manager, New Zealand Football to attend a National U17 Federation Camp in Auckland in April 2016. 

Friday 26 February saw 31 of our International Students from Timaru Boys’ and Timaru Girls’, three staff members and two helpers head away to John Scott Lodge.

The Timaru Boys’ High School touch team showed a massive reversal of form to share the honours with St Andrew’s from Christchurch in their annual summer sports exchange. 

The Timaru Boys’ Tennis team easily disposed of their Waitaki opponents in the annual summer exchange held in Oamaru. They won 9 matches to nil, losing only a third of their games. Golf croquet and bowls also had wins with the 1st XI cricket the only team to lose.

Timaru Boys’ Tennis is in a healthy state as displayed by its comprehensive display against Otago Boys’ at the recent Summer Sports Exchange in Dunedin. Unfortunately the cricket and touch did not fare as well as the tennis.

This year, all staff at Timaru Boys' High School will be actively involved in teaching the POWER values to our students. Each of the school terms will have a special focus, with Earning Respect being the focal point of Term One. 

Timaru Girls’ High School are holding a movie night to fundraise for their squad to attend the upcoming Maadi Cup in early April.

On Sunday 28 February our Senior A Touch Rugby side travelled to Oamaru to take part in the Aoraki Touch Rugby Championship.
