During the last week of Term 2, the Board of Trustees interviewed and assessed three shortlisted candidates for the position of 12th Rector of Timaru Boys' High School.

We are extremely proud of Year 13 student and Deputy Head Boy, Bailey Lissington who landed a prestigious international science award in Sydney.

The TBHS 2019 Pest Tail Competition was held from 5 June to 26 July and overseen by the school's Environmental Group.

On the evening of Wednesday 7 August, Timaru Boys’ hosted the Year 9 and 10 Aoraki Maths Competition and entered two teams at both year levels.

The evening of Friday 2 August saw our exceptional culinary team of Matt Kennedy, Callum Bowmar and Hayden Jefferson practise their skills to present a three course meal for 50 guests at their fine dining restaurant evening.

Earlier this month, the Year 12 Outdoor Education class headed to Mt Dobson for the Alpine practical.

Timaru is fortunate in having been selected as a South Island venue to host 12 choirs for a Big Sing Cadenza, with these choirs being ranked immediately below those selected for the national Finale.

Listen up parents – audiobooks have arrived at TBHS!

Keaton Swindells (Year 13) returned at the beginning of term from Barcelona where he represented NZ at the World Roller Games.

Our 1st XI midfielder Liam Parker recently took the field for his 100th 1st XI appearance in a big clash against Christchurch Boys' High School in Ashburton.

The Aoraki Secondary Schools Badminton Championships were held on 13 August.

Timaru Boys' High School welcomed the 76th Otaki Scholar, Rohan Mudkavi.

Our Jazz Band has being working towards our pre-ball entertainment performance (really looking forward to the ball!), and also had a wonderful day out in Oamaru, performing at the Garrison Hall to an appreciative audience at the end of Term 3’s first week back.

Jack's Point combination band (TBHS - Ben Roberts and Jack McLennan with Roncalli College students Nick Goodwin and Billy Cook), were invited to submit five original recordings to enter the selection round for the National finals of Rockquest up in Auckland.

The YMCA will be running workshops for all Year 13 students on Thursday 29 August in the morning.

"It's BINGO!, but not like your Nana knows it!” and this time it is musical bingo, a fundraiser for Timaru Boys’ High School Rowing.

Timaru Boys' High School has a Rugby Supporters' Page which is kept up to date daily with news regarding all our teams and former players.

The annual TBHS Golf Fundraiser is just around the corner! To be held Friday 22 November, 11:30am Shotgun Start.

The TBHS 1st XI Hockey and St Bede’s 1st XI drew 3-3 in Ashburton after an electric SSP match to finish the round robin section.

Timaru Boys' hosted the Judd School from England on Wednesday 7 August.
