As we come to the end of Term 2, our staff and students are all looking forward to a well- deserved break!

Congratulations to all our students who received awards at our Distinction Assembly last Thursday.

The Senior Social Sciences classes have been really busy over the last term studying a wide range of topics from Minnie Dean to population growth in London to Xero online accounting programmes which reflects the diversity of our learning area and how the Social Sciences relates to so many aspects of real world learning.

Wow! The last four weeks have been hectic for sport at Timaru Girls' High School.

Life in boarding has gone back to normal, with winter sports keeping the girls busy and our Moover on the moove most nights.

I have really enjoyed catching up with the students since we returned from Lockdown

A pre-loved fashion event called RECYCLE RUNWAY needs your classy and chic pre-loved clothing to help raise funds for those living with cancer.

PB4L is a framework at Timaru Girls’ High School based around our values: of community/tūrangawaewae leadership/mana wahine, heritage/mana tuku iho, and learning culture/whai hua, whai ako, whai mātauranga.

Firstly, we have our TGeeksHS girls (pictured above) who faced the challenge of playing soft jenga. There was no conclusive victor, however, we can all agree that we enjoyed participating and trying our best.

As part of our Health programme we will cover a unit on Sexuality in both Year 9 and 10 Health. This topic has been verified by the Board of Trustees and will be started in Health classes at the beginning of Term 3.

The girls went to Dunedin for the day and had a lovely look around the Otago University with interest in attending in 2022.
