Dunedin Shanghai Screen Writers’ Exchange

Complementing the impressive range of writers’ residencies offered in Dunedin, the city now provides international opportunities for our screen writers.

David Hay will spend six weeks in Shanghai hosted by the Shanghai Art Film Federation to work on a feature film and start development of new projects.

Dunedin will host a writer from Shanghai for six weeks in 2019.

Film Dunedin Coordinator Antony Deaker says, “We are thrilled this project has come to fruition and we are now in conversations with other cities to develop similar exchanges. We see the exchange format as not only providing an invaluable opportunity for the writer but also a pragmatic way to create new projects and build relationships that will benefit the city’s wider creative sector.”
