A major feasibility study regarding the future of performing arts in Dunedin is being jointly funded by the Dunedin City Council and Creative New Zealand.

It is a delight to see the variety of interesting projects that are proposed each March and September to the arts funding rounds at the DCC.

Rehearsals are different for the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra (DSO) in its splendid new Hanover Hall headquarters – now, they can hear each other.

The highly successful inclusion of art work in the design of two inner city recycling hubs has encouraged the Dunedin City Council to seek artists’ help with two more hubs in the tertiary area.

Complementing the impressive range of writers’ residencies offered in Dunedin, the city now provides international opportunities for our screen writers.

In May the DCC Community Development and Events team appointed a voluntary regional representative to the New Zealand Events Association (NZEA).
