Principal's Word - Term 1 Week 2

    by Jo Hunnikin

Kia ora Everyone!

A disjointed week, with Waitangi Day but we've still managed to cram a lot into 4 days!

Each day this week, a different junior year group has been working with the YMCA to run activities that help teach teamworking skills as students build relationships within their clas groups as they re-adjust to school life.

Our Year 11 and 12 students have been working with outside providers on their work-ready week and study-ready weeks. Both groups will have NCEA credits after only 2 weeks of school! A great start on which to build.

Last night we held our Year 7 - 9 meet and greet evening. Thank you to all of those parents who turned up. It was great to see everyone.  If you weren't able to make it last night, I have attached a copy of the booklet that we gave out to parents.

Next week we look forward to welcoming parents of Year 10 to 13 students to a 'Meet and Greet' on Tuesday at 6 pm in our library as we explain about the NCEA changes that are being implemented this year. We also have swimming sports to look forward to on Thursday! Parents are always welcome to attend our swimming sports and we hope to see many of you there.

Enjoy your weekend,

Jo
