In the final of this term's digital technology workshops, the Wairakei Technology Leaders designed, laser cut, and used Scratch and Makey Makey boards to create unique working ukuleles.
This week the Tech Leaders on our workshop to Breens.
We made Ukuleles with the laser cutter. First we got a Ukulele outline. Then we designed the Ukulele to our needs. Then we downloaded the custom ukulele to the laser cutter. The laser looked like the sun in a telescope. The ukuleles smelled like burnt wood after they were cut.
Next we used a coding program called Scratch. On Scratch we programmed the sounds we wanted on our Ukuleles. Then we loaded the sounds into a device called a Makey Makey.
We used alligator clips to hook the ukulele up with the Makey Makey. Now we can play our wooden ukuleles.
Thanks Breens for a great workshop! And thank you for reading my article.
