After months of intense training and fundraising it was great to have the opportunity to travel with my son recently to the World Futsal Championships. He had a wonderful experience there and particularly enjoyed travelling on the bus with a Brazilian team to the games each day. The boys received a bronze medal in the bronze division placing 11th out of 16 teams.

Te Pa Harakeke have started some exciting new learning this term.

Friday the 16th of August

In week 9 on 17th September, all WRPS learners will be taking part in an interactive drumming and dance performance. We are lucky to have Kadodo Drum and Dance NZ coming to visit us here at school and we are very excited to see what they have in store for us! This will be a great opportunity to extend our learning in the areas of Music and Dance and will complement our Arts Programme perfectly! There has been a $5 charge added to the children's school accounts.

A reminder that on Monday 12th August we will be holding a parent information session for all year levels.

Good luck to all the learners who have registered to take part in this years Spelling Bee. The online competitions will be run next Wednesday 14th August. All participating students will be awarded a certificate, and prizes will be awarded to top students in each year group. Just a reminder for those that have entered that the cost to participate is $9.00. If you have not already made payment please do so. If you have any questions please contact Mrs Murray. Payments can be made to the school account.

There is an exciting opportunity for year 5-8 learners to take part in 2 pottery workshops run through the Creative Clay studio at our school.

Just a reminder that ICAS entries are due in tomorrow (Friday 9th August).

We are creating a range of costumes to model in this years Cultural Festival at Horncastle Arena.

Rolleston College in zone enrolments for our 2020 intake of learners are now being accepted. These are due by Friday 16 August 2019 with enrolment interviews being conducted in the last week of August. It would be appreciated if you could please drop in or email your forms to the school. You can download these from the website www.rollestoncollege.nz and they can be emailed to admin@rollestoncollege.nz. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
