Mike Crawford - January 26, 2024
Happy New year, everyone!
In Te Ngahere, we have a vision of creating an environment that promotes and supports success both within our Hauora and Academics.
We are hoping you were all able to get some quality family time. We have a few notices for you to start the year with.
Your child will be working in the Te Ngahere space this year, however, we are split into two hubs.
If your child is in Mr Crawford's or Miss Loose's class, your child can enter through the doors next to sign Te Ngahere #1
If your child is in Mrs Houston's or Mr Langland's class, your child can enter through the doors next to the sign Te Ngahere #2
When your child comes with their stationery on Wednesday, could they please bring a plastic bag (qizzle send their stationery orders with one) to store the remainder of the stationery for the year in our space
In the last year we had a lot of lots of hats and polar fleeces left around the school unnamed. Wearing hats is a requirement and part of our school uniform in terms 1 and 4. Please ensure your child's hat and polar fleeces are named clearly and securely. We recommend Vivid on the inside of hats and polar fleeces, not just the name tags.
To continue improving student literacy, Silent Reading will continue to be a part of our culture in Te Ngahere. We would love your student to bring a book or magazine they like to read for the first week or two. We will be starting our library rotation as soon as possible. Please note, any material considered inappropriate will be sent home with your child.
We are excited to be going to surfing in week 2 - as two different hubs on the 7th and 8th. We have sent out a notice with details around these events.
Here is the form that was sent out last week. If you have yet to do so, please fill it out now.

About my child
Please take the time to fill out this questionnaire, the data will only be visible to Te Ngahere Teachers. Our questionnaire from 2023 was extremely helpful for the teachers. Also, to help our students learn about each other's whānau and to be more comfortable in our Te Ngahere community, we are asking for some family photos of you and your child to put in a Te Ngahere 2024 book that students can look at. If you would like to share, please upload a digital picture to this album.
