Music - It has been so much fun singing, playing instruments and having a boogie with the students. We have learnt how to keep the beat of a song through body percussion and instruments and how to make soundscapes using only our voices and bodies. We even became a human train! Ask your students to sing some Rattlin' Bog for you. It is such a tune!

Digital Literacy

We've been working on our digital literacy with computational thinking.
In the afternoons we've been using scratch.mit.edu to learn how to code and create programmes. All the students now have accounts, along with their google accounts and can share their work with their peers, teachers, and the community.

In the mornings, Emily Smythe has been teaching our students binary language and how computers communicate.

S.T.E.M

Have you ever wondered about how to build a bridge for a billy goat gruff or the tallest tower possible or even how to make the fastest blow cart?

Te Ngahere have had a great time in the STEM unit learning how to solve these problems using simple recycled materials and a whole lot of teamwork.

They have all planned, discussed and modified their plans, persevered and compromised as they worked together.

We have all had a great deal of fun learning together. Who said Science can’t be fun?

Some Notes for next term

Swimming

Due to level 2 restrictions and the unpredictably of indoor limits. We have cancelled swimming for next term.

Camp
We have are scheduled to have our camp on the new dates of December 13 to 15. The last week of school! We will return the afternoon before bell ringing day ( the last day of school). We understand that circumstances may change before the camp and some parents may not be able to join us/transport. We will send out more info early term 4.
