2023 has been an exciting year for our international students and it has been fantastic to see more and more students choosing New Zealand and Upper Hutt College as their destination and school of choice. We have appreciated the diversity that these students bring to our college and it is wonderful to see this vibrancy return to our college after a few years of border closures.

Year 12 and 13 students who achieved NCEA Level 1 and 2 the previous year have been acknowledged in the Academic Assembly.

Level 2 Geographers had a great experience heading to the Tongariro Volcanic Centre where they analysed the different flora in various locations. Student Gleb Mezentsev tells us about his experience.

Hundreds of students have been involved in the 2023 UHC Week enjoying various events and competitions including lip sync battles, house drama competition, talent quest and the opportunity to enjoy food trucks.

After a week of playing football at the tournament, I found that it was a great experience to have a trip away to play football and stay in the same accommodation for a whole week.

Here at Upper Hutt College the international students have enjoyed being a part of our popular Adventure Education Classes and enjoying one of the things New Zealand is famous for, the outdoors.

In this class, you can experience things that you cannot experience in Japanese study programs. All the activities are a lot of fun, although sometimes they are hard.

I am a student from Berlin who decided to spend his exchange year in Upper Hutt New Zealand

The UHC senior ball was held at Trentham Racecourse on Saturday August 12th attended by about 350 students and teachers. I attended the ball to experience a different culture and to make more friends with the local students.
