Visit this articleOn Monday 14th August, the Carmichael Team held their annual speech competition. We were lucky enough to have two very experienced adjudicators, Coryl Baggenstos and Sophie Rogers. There was a wide range of engaging topics which entertained and informed. The judges definitely had to make some difficult decisions. Congratulations to all those who participated. Ryan and Lillian will go on to East Cluster level to represent Bethlehem School at the East Cluster Speech Competition on Thursday 7th September. We wish them the best of luck.

Visit this articleThe Wiremu and Te Paeroa Speech Finals On Wednesday the 23rd of August, our enthusiastic speech finalists presented their interesting and diverse speeches, to a captivated audience. All the Wiremu and Te Paeroa teachers are extremely proud of all our amazing students who have worked incredibly hard to prepare and present their speeches. The overall winner for the Year 4 speech competition from Te Paeroa was Summer Diamond, second place Jimmy Miller and third place Manaia Wesley. A huge mihi to our judges Tapene Mika (Senior Te Paeroa winner), Whaea Kyanna Hetaraka-Rua and Matua Tony. The Year Three Speech winner was Levi Bewerton, second place went to Neeki Henley and Ali McDowell was placed third. The Year Four Speech winner was Isaac Bollin, second place went to Harneet Kaur and Sophie Redfern and Georgia Gleeson were joint third. We would also like to acknowledge and thank our judges Jacqui van der Beek and Angela Stensness.
