CPPA Executive Pānui, Dec 13, 2022

And it's farewell to the 2022 school year!

And just like that - we are done! The 2022 school year, our third of managing and living with COVID, is done and dusted.

I know that for a few of you, the final term might possibly have gone as per your well-organised plan. The reality for many of you will have included curve-balls, unexpected emails, phone calls and even tragic events that you couldn't have foreseen - such is the life of leadership.

I want to acknowledge all of the mahi that each and every one of you does in your school, and for the support and connections that you give to one another. We know that our colleagues are often our best support when the unexpected happens and we need someone to talk with.

I also want to acknowledge the massive work that our three mentors, Sue Jackson, Rob Callaghan and Lyn Bird, have been doing this last two terms. How did we ever manage with only two!

For a small number - this week is your final week in your school as you move on to new challenges. We wish you all of the very best and thank you for the service that you have given to your school and to CPPA.

I would like to thank our CPPA Executive for the huge effort that they have again put in this year. They continue to work tirelessly on behalf of all of our members and it is a great honour and priviledge to be part of the Exec team.

In particular, I would like to thank two of our outgoing CPPA Exec members who are leaving Canterbury principalship, and the CPPA this week.

Bruce Tilby finishes at Allenton School and is moving to Taupo to work with Oranga Tamariki in the new year.

Danny Nicholls is leaving Te Matauru to take up a position as DP at Cathedral College.

They have each contributed significantly to our Exec, and we wish them all the best in their new roles.

Thank you also to Meredith Devonald who has decided not to stand for the Executive again. We have appreciated your contribution to the Exec.

To all of our Business Partners who continue to support the work we do - thank you! Your commitment to CPPA is very much appreciated by us all.

With the holidays now upon us, I wish you all a safe and relaxing summer break. To those who are celebrating special occasions, including weddings and anniversaries - "Congratulations" - and to everyone - have a very well-earned break and I look forward to catching up with you in the new year!
