I am pleased to be able to be writing to you again after missing the first three weeks of school due to a serious family health situation. I am very grateful to the Board for providing me the leave to do this but I am also acutely aware that I have missed the key start up events which enable me to meet new families and students to the school. I do look forward to doing so on future occasions.

Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora will be closed on Thursday 16 March 2023 due to a PPTA member strike.

A scorching 31 degree day greeted our competitive students at Ngā Puna Wai for the Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora athletics day on Tuesday.

The Canterbury Interschools competition was held on Wednesday 22nd February at McLeans Island National Equestrian Centre.

Together we raised $1684.40 to support Gisborne Girls' High School and their whānau affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.

A School Strike for Climate is being held on Friday 3 March, assembling at 3pm in Cathedral Square. This is organised by School Strike for Climate Āotearoa which is a rangatahi (young people) led organisation.

The Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora Netball Club AGM is on Tuesday 28 February at 6pm in the staffroom.

Our school will participate in the Readers Cup, Year 9 competition again this year. Four groups have signed up to our internal competition on 3 March 2023, where they will compete to represent Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora. Ka pai team!!

All students in our kura are able to collect FREE period products to take home.

During Term One, Police will be increasing their presence around High Schools throughout Christchurch.
