Today marks the last day at Columba for the six students.

The South Island Secondary School Triathlon & Duathlon Champs were held at Friendly Bay in Oamaru on 3 March 2024. Age groups competing in the event were the Senior (U19), Intermediate (U16), and Junior (U14), with the Junior division including school-aged athletes in Years 7 & 8.

Year 13 Geography students spent the earlier part of this week exploring how glaciation has shaped the Wakatipu region, as well as learning about the process of tourism development in Queenstown and the surrounding areas.

The Junior School students have had several golf lessons with coach, Melanie Harper. Melanie talked us through the same step-by-step routine and the students got to hit a big ball, a tennis ball and a little rubber golf ball.

Earlier this week we hosted St Andrew's College from Christchurch for our annual Summer Sports Exchange. Tennis, Touch, and Volleyball were played in the spirit of keen competition and friendly rivalry.

The annual Weetbix Kids TRYathlon event was held over the weekend in Mosgiel, and Columba College had a wonderful representation of students from the Junior School participating in this greatly anticipated festival of physical activity!

Columba College Senior A Touch continues their National Runners-up success from December last year, claiming the Otago Touch Championship in convincing style on Saturday.

11 students in Y13 Economics have decided to join the Young Enterprise team this year. They have only just started the process of finding a product so ‘watch this space’.

The Parents Association is now well underway with planning for the 2024 fair and the day is a highlight for many of our children. All money raised goes towards funding the extra things the government and our school fees don't cover, which benefits all of our children!

The Columba College Sports Council is excited to announce that a date has been set for the annual Golf Day school fundraising tournament! This year, organisation is underway for the tournament to be held on Friday 18th October at the St. Clair Golf Course.
